Rafal Niemojewski, Director of the Biennial Foundation, is joined by art historian, writer and broadcaster Jacky Klein to discuss the fascinating phenomenon of the contemporary biennial and the polarised attention which it has attracted, and to reflect on the biennial’s possible future form in a post-Covid world. 

The discussion marks the publication of Biennials: The Exhibitions We Love to Hate, by Rafal Niemojewski. This first book in the series New Directions in Contemporary Art, Biennials examines one of the most significant recent transitions in the contemporary-art world.
