BOOK TALK 8 October 2021: To See The Stars Again: Dante And The Visual Imagination at Cheltenham Literature Festival

Author Martin Kemp (Visions of Heaven) appears at Cheltenham Literature Festival, Friday 8 October 2021, 4-5pm

From Michelangelo and the Pre-Raphaelites to contemporary artists working today, through his vivid depictions of heaven, purgatory and hell, Dante’s writing has captured the artistic imagination for centuries. To mark the 700th anniversary of his death, art historian Martin Kemp (Visions of Heaven) and Dante scholar David Bowe (Rachel Owen: Illustrations for Dante’s Inferno) join Dante specialist Heather Webb to celebrate the enduring power of Dante’s words and to explore his profound impact on the artists who have inherited his vision.

Tickets are £10 + booking fee and available to purchase via the Cheltenham Literature Festival website here.

The book will be available at the festival's Waterstones book tent on the day. You can buy your copy from our website now with free UK postage.
