Maternity Cover Vacancy
Editorial and Production Project Manager (maternity cover, in-house freelance role, 3 days/week)
We are seeking an experienced and confident Project Manager to cover a maternity leave, working in-house on a freelance basis as part of the Editorial and Production team. The job involves project-managing specific titles through the editorial, design and production stages and liaising with authors, artists, art galleries, co-publishers, freelance editors and designers, repro houses and printers as required. This is a stimulating and varied role for somebody who relishes the challenge of working in a small team to produce serious, high-quality illustrated art, architecture and design books to tight deadlines and budgets. The ideal candidate will have meticulous editorial skills, an eye for design and – ideally – some knowledge of the 4-colour production process. They will be highly organised, calm under pressure, an adept communicator and confident working under their own initiative. The role requires experience of project-managing illustrated books and a knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop.
The job is based in our London office on the City Road (nearest Tube stations: Old Street and Angel) and is an exciting opportunity for a creative and self-motivated individual to contribute to the development of a prestigious imprint. We anticipate that the maternity cover will be required for a year from early June.
To apply, please email your CV and a covering letter (stating why you believe you are the right person for this position) to Sarah Thorowgood, Head of Editorial and Production, firstname.lastname@example.org.
